The Goal That’s Greater Than Happiness- And How to Get It
Let’s get into all things SELF, my friend. Starting with self-concept- as in, how you feel about YOU. Listen, as life moves along it is both easy and natural to move into new seasons of identity. Careers, marriage, motherhood… with new roles come new responsibilities and, if we’re being honest, it can be easy to get consumed. I work with a lot of ladies that find themselves looking around and wondering who they are and trying to recall parts of them they have somehow forgotten. Add in the pressures of posting and friends we have a self-absorbed world with a need for remedy!
I have to admit, I do appreciate the efforts of encouraging self-love, self-care, and the importance of being real and authentic. But we need to talk about the theme weaved throughout this messaging- the one that encourages us to prioritize doing what makes us happy. I’ll get to right to the point- this message is flawed. Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m all for happiness! The issue is, however, that this objective is not actually the goal (spoiler alert- there’s a more important focus).
This episode is all about taking on the responsibility of ourselves, shifting our focus to self-awareness, and realizing that fulfillment is the goal we need to aim for. We’re digging into identity, and learning why the effort to become the best version of ourselves is worth it.
